To Grab a Disquiet of Dreams

A multichannel audio and video installation for the 2024 solo exhibition of multimedia artist Ha Thuy Hang, premiered at the SEAM, University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar, Bauhaus University Weimar. It was commissioned by the Radio Art Residency of Experimental Radio at Bauhaus University Weimar and the Goethe-Institut, Deutschlandfunk Kultur. Built from video, sound, balloons, objects and aluminium foil, the work takes its title from a line by the poet Tran Dan: "…to grab a disquiet of dreams…". In the artist's words: "I struggle with sadnesses until the sadnesses go through the needle's hole and get out into the vast universe… I was as carefree as a child, looking at the stars."
